Who we are and what we do
We are committed Francophiles who are based in Nairn in the Scottish Highlands near Inverness.
Marie, the owner, is a member of the Franco-Scottish Association in Edinburgh.
We all love France, speak French, and together have been working in tourism for 28 years.
We are passionate about France which is a beautiful and most interesting country full of rich traditions and culture.
We want to share our own personal knowledge with you to make sure your time spent there is unforgettable and beyond your expectations and you will leave France, loving it as we do!
Our specialist award-winning company of experienced and committed travel counselors, is now in its 10th successful year, and is owned and managed by Marie Cruickshank, the inspiration behind the business and who won"Highland Business Woman of the Year" in 2006.
Marie brings many different attributes to France Made Easy, along with her great enthusiasm, passion, energy and commitment which are shared with her small dedicated team of French speakers. She was very honoured to have been made an honorary member of the Confrerie des Freres des Tastevins de St Etienne in Kientzheim in Alsace in 2007.
We offer a very personal service, unlike larger faceless and anonymous companies, and enjoy getting to know their clients and building up a good rapport and many of our clients come back to us as you will see on the comments from earlier clients on the site.
As we work closely with the French Tourist Board, ( ATout France), we have up-to-date information at our fingertips and are happy to advise you and help with any queries Marie and her team go regularly to different areas of France to meet up with and liaise with hoteliers and tourism professionals from various areas.
We are members of ABTOF, the association of travel operators to France.
We go regularly to Rendezvous en France – the worldwide travel trade fair hosted by Atout France in different cities in France (next year it will be Bordeaux) and we also go to Workshop France held in London.
France Made Easy keeps up to date with new developments, hotels we use and places to visit for our clients. We have excellent professional contacts all round France, including friends and family who live in France as well as many tourist board professionals there.
This is extremely important for France Made Easy who want to give clients the best experiences they can have when on holiday with them!
You need to be sure that you are booking with a company you can trust, so it’s good to know that Marie is a member of the her local Chamber of Commerce who would be delighted to verify our credentials if you wish to contact them.
Marie was also a member of her local Nairn Rotary Club for several years but has had to give up due to heavy work commitments.
Through her many years' experience as a qualified Home Economist and setting up, owning and running an award-winning B&B, Marie developed strong links within the hospitality industry, and continues to promote France worldwide.
Marie has gone out to meet clients in the US before and after their trips - as well as during their stay in France and may even join them to take them on a walking tour or join them for a wine tasting lunch!
Marie has also worked as a hotel inspector, so has a good eye for high standards and good quality. This is invaluable in ensuring that clients stay in lovely 3 and 4 Star little hotels round France. France Made Easy has a good range of de luxe, mid range and budget hotels round France.
It is due to all this experience, Marie has learned a lot about what clients want and need when they are on holiday, - so France Made Easy can make your holiday easy for you! --- especially if you are short of time, do not know the country and do not speak the language!
With our travel planning team and knowledge of France, we are happy to organize accommodation for medical, educational or other conferences. Perhaps you may like to extend your time after a conference for a side trip and do a self drive tour? We are delighted that many of our clients find us by word of mouth or repeat business – so why not tell your friends? "A bientot", as they say in France! See you soon!
