Find the oldest bridge in Paris and discover why its name is so unusual!!

Visit the stunning chapel built for the king and see its beautiful stained glass windows - maybe take in a piano recital there?

Walk along the river and find the little island called Ile des Cygnes which only locals know ---have a picnic with some fresh baguette, some pate and some lovely French cheese bought at a nearby local market -- and see the Statue of Liberty nearby ---

Provence

Arrive approximately 3 hours later in the sunshine of Provence in Avignon and go to the small town famous for both Nostradamus and Van Gogh!

Follow the Van Gogh Trail round the town, visit the museum with a permanent exhibition for him, have a café on the "boulevard"  and watch the world drive by.

Take in and join a game of Petanque in a village in Provence -- sleepy afternoons --

Visit a colourful local market and buy some lavender soaps or olive oil or some sachets of dried lavender --- maybe buy some linens to take home --

See where Nostradamus was born and step back in time to visit the Roman city nearby --find the fossils in the stonework -- what a wonder!

Visit a vineyard which is situated on a Roman site which is still being excavated -- taste wines made in the traditional way from Roman times ---

Take a drive to the "Valley of Hell" and see the ruins of the notorious chateau -- perhaps find a Michelin star restaurant hidden in the valley ---

Smell the fields of lavender, find that little medieval church or monastry, pick some wild rosemary or thyme -- the smells --unforgettable!!

See the olive groves and the silver leaves glistening in the sun ---

What about a picnic after a visit to the local colourful market to buy some olives, cheese, pate and bread and find that little wine shop to buy some Provencal rosé to take with you -- not to forget the glasses and the bottle opener --
